Tej Pandit

Lead Engineer

University of Texas at San Antonio

Tej Pandit is the Lead Engineer for the THOR project, responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of the neuromorphic hardware infrastructure at UTSA. Tej works as an AI Research Scientist at the MATRIX AI Consortium and a Ph.D. graduate (Electrical Engineering) from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where he was advised by Dr. Dhireesha Kudithipudi. He earned his M.S. in Computer Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). His research is concentrated on developing Continual Learning AI and Reinforcement Learning systems, drawing inspiration from neuromorphic systems. He explores how neurogenerative evolutionary mechanisms and cellular automata can be used to create AI capable of lifelong learning without suffering catastrophic interference.
